Does This Blog Have A Future?

Sometimes, rarely, I lose the will to live. Without going too much into it, things that are usually important to me stop being important while I am stuck there.

I am uncertain about the future of this blog while this keeps happening.

Reading quotes help me put things into perspective.

Anyway... there'll be a better post next week. I just can't deal with this right now.

  1. Ashana, I'm so sorry to hear that you're dealing with difficult things right now. You are more important than any blog. If you need to take time away from blogging and figure things out and take care of yourself then do it. Making sure you're ok is more important than anything else at the moment. And know that the blogging community is always here for you, no matter what.

    1. I'm finally getting round to these...
Thanks so much Imogen. I'm trying to get back into blogging, because I do miss it. But I don't think the goals/restrictions I set before will work anymore, so I'll have to try something else. Aw. You guys are sweet :3

  2. I feel like Imogen said all the things that need to be said and in the perfect words. You are the person, your blog is the thing, and people are more important than things. Like Imogen said, we're here for you, for better or worse.

    1. :) Thanks Heather! I really appreciate that. I'm a bit more together now. I've got people supporting me now that I didn't have before (well, you guys of course XD but irl too).

  3. Hey Ashana, please know that you are not alone, no matter what it may seem. Life does get in the way more times than it should, but please do not give up, like the quote says. It can be difficult to worry about your blog because you love it and you've spent time on it, but as Imogen and Heather said, you are most certainly more important. You could perhaps not post anything for however long you wished if you'd want to go back to your blog in the future, even if not to start posting again, just to keep as something you love.

Also, however hard things may seem, they will be better one day. Hang in there, Ashana. :)

    1. Hey Ashna, you gave such great advice. I will definitely keep this blog up, even if I'm not posting. I do get this intense disappointment if I don't post anything. But during the months just gone, sometimes I don't even feel like posting or feel as though I have something to say. If I end up writing something that's poor quality, I feel even worse. Taking a break helped me to step back and re-evaluate my motives. Thanks so much for your comment.

  4. No matter what (and this sounds super corny) we'll be here for you if you ever decide to stop and then come back. Just don't leave the blog forever 'cos believe it or not YOU'RE SUPER TALENTED.
It's a recent discovery but whenever I feel like life's being a total sh*thead I shouldn't have to deal with I write a list of things I have achieved and feel hella better about myself/life in general. Hope you get through this mostly unscathed (I'm keeping these hopes realistic see?) and know that it's super-fine to not be okay right now and that you'll never always not-be-okay and that life's ups and downs may be sickening but the meaningful connections you have with people make your life meaningful and that YOU get to decide and EVERYTHING. ALL THE POSITIVE INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES IN THE WORLD.
Just get better (if you can, and in your own time) and yeah we're still here.

    1. Aww. So touching :) That's such a great idea - a list of achievements instead of a to-do (ie. not done) list. I did try that once, and it DID help my mood. I often forget when life is chaotic though. Inspirational quotes helped me a lot for a time. I have some stuck up on my wall now actually. :D Thank you Mawa

  5. I am finally back from my own enormous slump, where I totally lost the will to live, only to discover you are suffering from it as well. I really hope everything is going okay with you, and taking a break from the blog has helped you quite a bit.

    1. I'm so sorry to hear you've been struggling too Charnell. :( I am doing better in many ways. It's brought new challenges as well, but I can cope a little better now. When I posted this, I was relying heavily on upbeat music, fresh, nourishing food (not sugary comfort food if I could help it), inspirational quotes, making time to see friends; I also joined a personal development programme and started taking an art course. So slowly, I saw that the downward-spiral became a gradual upward-spiral. As Mawa said above, meaningful connections with other people really are fundamental - I hope that helps you too. We will definitely speak soon (and I haven't forgotten that I promised you a story) xx
